easiest way is to make a backup, restore to 7.0.4, and then restore from backup

or you can use appbackup (you need to save the files onto your computer and then transfer it back to the device afterwards)

By restore to 7.0.4 you mean update to7.0.4 then restore to backup?

So backup---->update---->restore from backup? And any progress/ sms should be safe? Will it get rid of the "other" space on my phone?

Where and how can i can appbackup? Cydia? I'll have a hunt for it and a look around.

yup, back up using itunes. and then click restore in itunes (do not click update)
after the restore is down, choose to restore from backup

it will not get rid of the "other" space. it is impossible to get rid of it all

yes, appbackup is from cydia. just search for it. if you are going to restore from backup, you do not need to download/use appbackup

So when it restores it also downloads the update? Ok sweet. Thanks.

i mean that in order for me to get the latest software i have to restore the phone and it gives it to me?

yes, clicking restore in itunes will automatically download the 7.0.4 firmware package. just make sure to make a backup to itunes!
