Hello,

I have a iphone for work that I registered with a personal email account for the AppleID. I have a work email address that is not linked to my AppleID. I recently purchased a Macbook Air and it was just easy to use the same AppleID. Now that both devices are linked to the account, I would like to separate the two devices. If I should leave my employer, I am concerned it might effect my Macbook.

Is this just as simple as removing the Apple ID from my Macbook and creating another one? I am concerned that my employer could have access to my personal device and potentially cause issues if I was to leave the company and hand in my work iphone. I appreciate any advice.

Remove the Apple ID from your work iPhone and create a new one with your work email address to use with it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there no risk of losing data on my work iPhone by removing the apple ID and creating a new one?

When you sign out, you are asked if you want to keep copies of certain data on the device. Calendars, Reminders etc. Alternatively, you could change the email address of the current Apple ID to use your work email instead.
