I use Firefox (94.0.1) as my default browser and have set
Swisscows (https://www.swisscows.com) as its home page
and for new tabs.
Annoyingly, whenever I either click the Home icon in the
FF menu toolbar (when viewing an existing website),
or open a new tab, the cursor does not default to the
search field.
When I forget about this (which I always do!) and instead
immediately start typing my search query it behaves as though
I'd pressed Command+F to find something: my typed letters are
entered into the Command+F search query field at the bottom
of the Swisscows home page.
Then I have to quit the Find, mouse up to the Swisscows search
field, and type my query.
I can get around this (when I remember to do so) by first Tabbing
3 times when a new Swisscows page opens which then puts the
cursor into the Swisscows search field. Then I can type my query,
and avoid the whole above issue.
However, it occurs to me that this can somehow be avoided i.e.,
that the default position of the cursor should be able to be set
somehow.
Is there a way to get the cursor to default to the search field
of Swisscows (https://www.swisscows.com) ?
Many thanks for all solutions!
