How do we set up new devices to include all passwords and be signed into everything like the previous device was? I usually have to enter in passwords to sign into sites and apps. I don't want to have to do that. For my resent upgrades, I had the devices next to eachother. I don't remember if I chose to restore from the device or the latest cloud backup.

I place a new iPhone next to the old one and let them transport everything automatically. All the rest comes down from iCloud (synchronization). So I do not restore from a (static) backup but get all the "current" data downloaded automatically. Including passwords from iCloud Keychain.

All passwords are stored in iCloud (as long as you allowed when it asked). If your concern only password, you only need to login the same Apple ID on the new phone and tick password in iCloud sync option.

Apple calls it Quick Start...

I did one of these options -

  1. Choose how you want to transfer your data.
    • If you download from iCloud, your apps and data download in the background so that you can start using your new device right away.
    • If you transfer directly from your previous device, you'll need to wait for the transfer to complete on both devices before you can use them.
But I had to enter my passwords to sign into some apps and websites.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Transferring directly from device to device brings over the most authorizations, but some apps will still require logging in again. The iCloud method will sync your keychain but you'll have to login back it to nearly every app.
