Hi -

I just got a new iMac and I'm going to set up my iTunes library again (my old one is 10 years old and got screwed up with Apple Music). I have 3 sources I want to pull from for my music -

1) CD's I've purchased
2) Music I've purchased via iTunes
3) Apple Music

I plan on ripping all my CD's into iTunes (Lossless quality) and want those files to stay there. I also am going to re-download my iTunes purchases.

Lastly, I plan on downloading albums via Apple Music.

How do I make sure that the music I'm adding via CD and iTunes doesn't get deleted with this Apple Music/iTunes bug?

You could try waiting till they release the update that addresses the issue. That's supposed to be next week and, if all goes well, the issue will be fixed. Till then, you just have to take your chances, not that the risk is great.

import your cd versions, get that all ironed and cleaned up, download your iTunes store purchases, make a back up and wait until either the fix or get straight into uploading your newly imported/download iTunes content into iCloud Music Library.
