I recently bought a mac mini. It came with a displayport to DVI adapter. I am wondering; how does one go ahead and hook up 2 monitors to the mini?

Only the 2009 Mac Mini can run 2 monitors. It has 2 display plugs (mini DVI and display port), so you need to pickup an adapter. If its a pre 2009 Mini, you need to fork over around $100 for a USB to DVI adapter.

Edit: I don't know why Tallest Skil bothers to answer anyone, his posts are usually useless, belittling, and don't help solve the problem. Its sad really.

No, it doesn't! The 2009 has Mini DisplayPort and Mini DVI.

And that bit about the USB to DVI adapter? Nowhere near $100.

OP, you got a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, yes? That means you have a 2009 machine. You'll also need a Mini DVI to DVI (or VGA) adapter if you want a second display.

Your right, I have no idea what I am talking about. Despite the fact that I own one of the machines. You are right about the mini DVI, I mistyped that. Why could you not just post this stuff to begin with instead of your TYPICAL useless posting you do everywhere. So many members are sick of you here.
