I'm trying to get AirPrint set up on my home pc with XP Pro SP3 and 2 shared printers. I was in the process of getting it set up with iOS4.2 and was still struggling a little to get it to work. I read several older posts fully that completely explained how to get it set up with the old iOS. I had gotten the iPhone to see the printers, and could select one to print to but it wouldn't ever print. I'm sure I was close but was lookin for help getting it completed. Then yesterday I upgraded iPhone 4 to iOS5. When I got home and started trying to find how to fix the last problem, I discovered I could no longer see the shared printers I had been able to see the day before.

So my question is did iOS5 make AirPrint.exe quit working? Is anyone working on a new fix? Would love a tutorial if anyone had time on how to get it set up. I know there are tons of threads for iOS4.2 concerning AirPrint but wasn't sure if there needed to be a fix for iOS5 or not.

Any help appreciated.

Try additional option "airprint.exe -R _ipp._tcp,_universal -s"

Wow!!! So once I deleted the existing airprint service, and actually typed it correct while making the newly modified service, I can again see my printers shared on Win7 32 on my iPad2.. BUT, I now have the dreaded lock icons on the ipad, and never get prompted for the user login. I don't even see the printers on the iPhone 4 iOS5 however. Click the lock, mand the spiral spins a couple seconds, and lock reappears. Airprint IS in the firewall, as is Bonjour, and even a separate entry allowing TCP port 631...

Any other ideas? Prior to upgrading to iOS5 and creating this new service, printing was flawless.

Thank in advance... Would love to make this work. Wasn't keen on fingerprint trial, and hated the thought of parting with $10 for what used to be free.

I'm stuck at the same spot, but can see the printer on both my iPhone and iPad running iOS 5.01. Cannot seem to remove the printer lock. Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated!! :)

Guest account indeed does work, although I don't care for the potential security risk... I can use that if necessary while I keep searching!

Ok, I have scoured the Internet, set up the new service including the new options, it is running and everything but I still cannot see my printer on my iPad. I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, iPad 2 ios5, the service I added is sc.exe create AirPrint binPath= "C:\Program Files (x86)\AirPrint\airprint.exe -R _ipp._tcp,_universal -s" depend= "Bonjour Service" start= auto

And like I said, I have it started and it is running, my printer is shared and all other computers can see it, use it, except my iPad. It will not even show up on the printer list.

If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Details would help. You have iTunes installed (note that AirPrint is dependent on Bonjour) on your Win7 machine? Guest account enabled?

I do have iTunes installed and I also have the guest account set up and the printer completely shared.

Airprint with ios5.1

I have updated iOS5.1 and worked without guest account enable on my PC.
Of couse, I input "user name" and "password" at first time print.
