I have all autocorrect switched off in settings, yet in Notes it still always happens (suggesting some extra word under the written one) and unless manually cancelled, it is replaced. How to avoid this nonsense ?

Hmm... I hadn't noticed that before, but mine's doing the same thing. I can't suggest a fix, but just wanted to let you know that it's not just you.

The Lord Apple has spoken- er spellen- and ye shall take the word suggested by the Lord and be thankful for it. Trying to circumvent the Lords work could get ye tried, convicted and publicly stoned. ;)

Irony: it took 6 tries to get the improperly-spelled word spellen to actually take in trying to make this joke.

Same deal with the "smart quotes" setting visible in that screenshot. Notes in Sonoma often ignores that system setting and replaces basic ASCII ' and " characters as you type them.

Woeful QA basically.
