Checked the settings in iphoto over and over, can't see anywhere to make it stop launching when I connect the iphone.

anyone know how to stop this?

You could probably delete the iphoto .plist file. I'm not in front of my mac, but it is located it /users/<your user name>/library/<either iphoto or just preferences I think>/<there should be an iphoto plist here>

I wish I could help more lol, but alas I have to stare at this Windows 2000 computer all day

I remember this now - brought back some memories - mostly frustration at having to go into image capture to turn off a feature in iPhoto.
