I have a new Macbook Pro with Monterey 12.0.1. I need the computer to download stuff overnight and I have it plugged in. Under power adapter, I have it so that it is prevented from automatically sleeping, but it seems to stop about 3 hours in.

How do I keep the computer active all night?

Thanks for the response. Is there a way to do it without having to download a program?

Open terminal and type caffeinate -d and as long as that terminal window is running your Mac won't go to sleep.

If you need to prevent your Mac from sleeping regularly then I would still recommend that app that I mentioned however if you need that rarely like I do then terminal command is all you need.

On the Intel machines there's a command, I think it's "pmset", that lets you change the sleep behaviour. I presume it still works on Arm.

I'm not at my Mac right now so can't give the exact command.

Edit: I think it's "sudo pmset -c sleep 0".
