How to tell if 3G water sensored has been tipped?

I've seen lots of posts about water damage and I've seen pictures of the iPhone 2G sensor (in the headphone jack), but can anyone explain how/where/what the sensors are like on the 3G? I believe there is one near the charging pins...? Also in the headphone jack...? If anyone has any information I'd appreciate it.
