I have a new M1 Air, and when I installed Chrome I didn't get the option to choose M1 or Intel version... why is this? Which version do I have if I just downloaded what was offered..?

Chrome is a Universal Binary now, so it will automatically detect if you are running Intel or Apple Silicon and run the correct version.

You can also check Activity Monitor and sort by "Kind", and it will say for any program running if it's "Intel" or "Apple".
