Hey all, first post!

A few months ago I bought a 2TB RAID drive to be my new Time Machine home. I tried to transfer my Time Machine backups from my old drive and it kept stalling out. It'd transfer about 3GB then stop copying. I maxed out my RAM and I can get it to 30GB but it stalls out again. Because the folder is the Time Machine folder, I can't separate the individual files, so I'm stuck trying to copy the full 500GB at once.

Is there a better way of doing this as opposed to dragging and dropping? At this point I'm getting desperate. Any help is appreciated!

I have not used a RAID in trying to copy a Time Machine backup scenario before, so I have no firsthand knowledge. I was just speculating on what was different.

Maybe someone else on the forum has some firsthand experience. It might be helpful for people to have specifics on what RAID drive you have.

Possible things to try:
Talk to Apple.
Try a new Time Machine backup to the RAID, how does it work?
Try a non-RAID drive for a test.
