I have a macbook 2008 with 10.6.8 and have cloned everything to an external drive.

When I hook up the external drive to my macbook air with 10.11, however, I can't access any of the keychain data from the 10.6.8 drive.

How do I transfer the passwords from 10.6 to 10.11 keychains? Right now, I'm entering a few important passwords manually. Thanks.

I think you can upgrade you 10.6 to 10.9. Then you can use iCloud keychain to sync your passwords. 10.9 is the minimum OS X version that can use iCloud keychain.

I am not a keychain expert. So maybe there are other better options.

I just read the keychain manual. There is exporting that you can use to manually export you keychains.

I think the macbook early 2008 only supports up to 10.8. I'll check.
