How to transfer game status

Is there a way to transfer game status from one phone To the next, for instance if I completed a few boxes or have a certain amount of stars on cut the rope then I get a new iPhone, I have to start over.. Is there any way to "continue" or transfer my game status? And with other games sick as nova, sandstorm, etc.

When you activate the new phone you need to select the old phone backup when initializing instead of "as a new phone". This will transfer all your old phone information, apps and apps information to the new phone.

There's no other way? Because the reason I had to reformat my phone is because oh a software issue in my phone from what apple said so if I restore, the bug could transfer back to my phone.

Unless the game itself has a feature to export/save status I don't think there are other (safe) methods.
