I need to transfer texts from my old Samsung Android phone into the iPhone that I've already started using (everything backed up on iCloud, including text messages that are only on this phone).

To import the messages I know I'll have to reset the iPhone and use the Move to iOS Android app, so I wonder if doing so if I'll end up restoring both my previous iPhone messages from iCloud and the Android ones by using the app.

Thanks a lot

I don’t know if this helps. But recently I had lost many text messages on my iPhone. Been using iOS for the last 3 years exclusively. I had backups or my text messages from back then using smart switch and also sms backup and restore app. I have an old Note 20 ultra laying around , so I restored my old text messages on there. Then used Move to iOS on my iPhone. ( couldn’t find any other way ). However now many of my old text messages have two or three duplicates for sent and received. Sorry I can help further, if you find something that can move text messages to iOS without the need reset the iPhone I’d also be interested. Thanks.
