How to turn off Private browsing permanently

I usually have loads of tabs open, I clicked a link in a store and all of a sudden I could only see the linked page, I tried clicking above the address bar, as that usually brings all the tabs back, but no luck. I think that I am in private browsing, I’ve tried turning it off but all I get is a message saying that I will loose my history etc and I am unable to close that page.

I have tried coming out of safari and holding my finger on the app, but it‘s not giving me the option to open all the tabs like it usually does when I’ve occasionally had this problem, but the “New Private tab” is highlighted. If I click show all tabs I can see 8 webpages.

After a while of messing about, I then got 4 of the tabs back, one of which fortunately was macrumers, can someone please advise how to get all my other tabs back and or turn off private browsing permanently?

I just clicked one of the 8 and all my tabs cam back.

But my question still stands, is there a way to permanently turn of Private browsing as I‘ve spent about an hour messing about with this problem?

Yes I found that and it didn’t work, all I got was the message about loosing all my history etc, and I couldn’t close that page!
