Updated from iOS14. I had no idea how but there was no sound until I upgraded to iOS15. I can't find option to turn it off in Sounds & Haptics. Thanks.

I did that. And what I’m looking for is silencing Sent Message tone too. But there is no option under Sounds&Haptics.
Yes, that setting seems to be missing, although I don't know if it was there on earlier versions. There's apparently a method of silencing sounds for Messages, and then adding incoming alert sounds for each of your contacts. I haven't tried it but it sounds like a lot of work.

Here's one site that describes it: https://www.maketecheasier.com/turn-off-outgoing-messages-sound-iphone/

Not sure why its not under Sounds & Haptics, shows up on both my 12 PM & 13 PM. Settings, Sounds & Haptics, scroll down where it says Sounds & Vibration Patterns. Under that there is a list.

Would you mind posting a screenshot of that section where you're seeing Sent Message or Sent Text tone? All I see on iOS 15 is Text Tone, which is the incoming tone, not outgoing/sent.

Here ya go.

That's the same as mine (and the OP's), so it only proves OP's point that there's no setting for outgoing Text Tone, only incoming. You can easily test it by changing the Text Tone setting and sending yourself a message. You'll hear the Swoosh tone when you send it, not the Text Tone you selected.

@marzfreerider - same thing with your screenshots. You said you have a setting for the outgoing/sent Text Tone but your screenshot only shows Text Tone, which is the incoming tone.

If either of you know a way to mute the outgoing/sent Text Tone without muting the incoming tone (which is what setting it to None does), please let the OP know.

There isn't. Jailbreakers of previous iOS versions could change the specific sound file to a silent one, though.

The closest thing is changing "Text Tone" to "None" and setting individual text tones for each contact. Not great unless the vast majority of your important incoming texts are from those contacts.

Yes, that's what I suggested above, and I agree it's not a great solution.

Thanks to you all. Unknowningly I must have had a broken iPhone 11 or some glitch in the software - I had no swoosh sound when sending message for years! o_O

Now I'm not sure what to do - the swoosh is very irritating, but the tedious task of adding tone to each contact is not a fun perspective. I guess I can turn on the incoming tone for the favourite contacts only and keep the rest on silent.... A very welcomed excuse to miss messages from quite a few of them... 😆

Apologies I misread the title, I was thinking the email swoosh. If you put the phone in silent/vibrate mode you won't get the sound when sending a message. I actually put that in a suggestion while on iOS 15 beta, ability to turn off keypad tones when dialing and message sent tone.
