I would like to turn on the Macbook with the lid closed when I'm home with the external monitor/keyboard, etc.

Is there a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse that would let me do this? Opening the lid everytime to turn on the computer and shutting it is getting tiresome.

I want to be able to turn off the computer fully (no standby) and turn it on from the keyboard. I seem to remember on old Macs you were able to turn on the computer from the keyboard.

Mate, I don't know of a keyboard or device that will boot your Mac and bypass the power button. Can I ask why you don't want to simply sleep your Mac? It uses barely any power and is arguably better for it in the long run as it ensure the appropriate maintenance tasks are run consistently.

maybe theres a program/script that reprograms the apple remote? i know theres some (somewhat silly) security program that uses your play button on the remote as a car alarm on/off function.
