When entering a series of calculations in the new Calculator, we're now treated with the below.

Is there a way to get rid of this, and have it (again) work like every other 10-key calculator by automatically showing the running sum/total instead of having to hit "=" each time??

Not so much inadequate, as very highly annoying. Also wonder about the thought and design process which determined this was necessary...

Good for App Store developers, but another "What the # Apple?".

Somewhere between 0 and 1
In the past when Apple didn’t make macOS yet immutable, you could replace some applications with ones from previous versions. Now you cannot, because most of the apps that are considered as part of macOS are on sealed volume

Interesting... I didn't notice that yet as I haven't used Calculator on Sequoia extensively.

I understand that it's annoying if you prefer the "classic" way. However, there are probably quite a few people who approve this change.

For example, I actually prefer the new way (have been using this type of calculator on Android for years). Although not that this was ever critical to me.

Obviously, Apple implemented this quite poorly. The numbers should automatically wrap and form a new line when the calculation exceeds the calculator width.

If you do stay with Apple's calculator, at least make it Scientific to expand the calculation area.

Other than that, as others have already suggested, there are sure several 3rd-party calculators that are better designed and more customizable than what Apple offers.

There have been a few calculator threads on here. I'm not happy with the new calculator either. I switched to PCalc ($10 on the app store); no regrets, the only downside may be that it is so customizable that I sort of had options overload when looking at the settings menu for the first time.
