How to uninstall software?

Hi Everyone!

I am new to mac and couldn't figure out how to uninstall programs. Anything like "Add/Remove programs" for mac?

Just drag the app into the trash. Dead easy....

If you'd like to clean up any little files (like preferences), you can do a spotlight search for the application name to find them, and drag them to the trash as well if you like. This isn't necessary, since they don't take up much space, and if you ever re-install the software your old preferences will already be set up.

Some programs for OS X also come with an uninstaller file. While dragging the app to the trash will uninstall it, running a provided uninstaller will clean up items that have been installed elsewhere in your various directories.
