Pardon me since I have no idea about unlocking the iphone whatsoever. I used to have an Iphone 2g now I upgraded to 3g. I'm planning to have a vacation to the Philippines for 3-4 weeks probably 8 months from now. I'm a satisfied AT&T customer for 3 years and so I have no need of unlocking the Iphone for US use. However I don't want to pay outrageous data and voice prices for roaming so I just want to unlock the Iphone 3g for the entire time that I will be out of the country and lock it again after I come back. Can I do this w/o damaging my phone? If so, then how?

as of today - there is no "unlocking"-crack. me want this too...think it's crap that they lock the phone. obviously you might want more than one sim - especially when travelling.

Should have kept your 2G phone. There's no reason to lock the phone if the phone was ever unlocked, it's not a legal issue. Also it's quite easy to relock your phone, just do a software restore or upgrade.

ow about unlocking sim cards like rebel sim
Or universal sim? Do these things work? I don't really mind paying
$40 I these things work and also if I unlock my phone would I be able to sync it in iTunes and buy apps?

Base on what I read so far is that these sim tweak is borderline illegal and partially functional.
