How to Unlock (NOT JB) iPhone 2G into 3.1?

im on 3.0 and it is unlocked w redsn0w... can i use redsn0w again and unlock 3.1???

Same here, the poor 2G is being neglected! Are we able to update to 3.1 and re JB/UNLOCK on the 2G?

I don't think anyone has unlocked 3.1 regardless of the model.

Wait for the Dev Team to release their update for Pwnage Tool, which should hopefully come later this week.

The 2G is not being neglected. Pwnage Tool will let you do everything you want.

I'm F***ed Up!

I'm f***ed up guyz!!!!!!! my cousin went all "know-it-all" and told me he could do it... i told him we should wait for the dev team (like ive heard from everyone).... he went and took my iphone w/o me noticing and thought he was going to make it work.....
well, guess what he did?!?! he updated to 3.1 thinking that he'll be able to unlock it, AFTER he does that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

What are my best options now?!?! please!!!

ILL POST THE PICS FROM THE IPHONE ITSELF AND ITUNES AFTER MY COUSIN FINISHED W/ IT...... AND I'LL BE RIGHT BACK TO FINISH MY COUSIN!!!

But really... Now you have to downgrade to 3.0 if you want to use your phone. Since you have a 2G it shouldn't be too bad.

I think you can just take a 3.0.1 IPSW created with Pwnage tool and just Alt+Click restore and restore it to 3.0.1. If not, then you may have to go to DFU mode first.

Then hit your cousin really hard and gloat about how you were totally right.

well, dont think there is anything that can be done in terms of unlocking it for other carriers...upgrade to 3.1 updates the baseband and you cant downgrade the baseband. Now, thats currently...you never know, down the road you might be able to. However, right now there is no way.

Also, i dunno if this applies to the 2G....im 50/50 on this...so others will chime in for sure.

if you dont need unlock (on ATT) then its just a matter of time before they have a JB for 3.1

2G should be Unlocked on all basebands. So nothing to worry about there. Just downgrade I think.

so, i basically pulled an all-nighter yesterday..!! after 17 restores, a few errors, internet problems, unblock problems, i finally managed to safely restore to 3.0!!!!!!!

only to find this morning.... that the Dev Team released pwnagetool 3.1 for mac! i laughed so hard! (out of tiredness and irony!)

well im trying out pwnagetool as i write... ill let u guyz know what i end up with....

I'm assuming it ended up well and you're prancing through the fields with your newly jailbroken iPhone 1G wishing Apple had upgraded it with MMS so you could send pictures to your friends! At least when they send you videos you can save them!
