Everytime it goes to reset the springboard it freezes version 2.2 I know 2.3 is out but would I have to remove everything from folders before doing this I already lost iMunchies I see it on bossprefs etc but it not on the springboard.
I love this app but I always have to perform a soft reset to fix it. Sorry about the title I did this on my phone!

I'm so confused . When are you respringing the springboard? and if you can't find a specific app, go into bossprefs and make sure that it isn't hidden. Also You can update to 2.2.1 (not 2.3) and when you restore your phone, go into settings and then click general<reset<reset homescreen layout. And that should fix any problems that keeping apps in categories causes when you rejailbreak.

my firmware is 2.2 it's the app that can be updated. Bossprefs says it isn't hidden but it's not viewable. It resprings then freezes everytime I close the app.

check to make sure boss prefs is update/reinstall it. Also you could try downloading the actual application "poof' from cydia, and hide/unhide the disappearing app, and see if that solves the problem

they work fine it's mainly if I update do I lose every app in the folders if I do not take them out?

If you update and rejailbreak you will everything anyways, but you can always to do a backup in aptbackup from cydia. And if you run into a problem because you updated without moving the apps out of folders you can just do the settings-general-reset-reset homescreen layout and it will fix your problem.
