Hmm, I'm not sure of the install guide here covers this or not but all you have to do is either restore/upgrade to a the latest stock firmware then use QuickPwn (don't use this is you unlock) or you have to download the new firmware and use the Pwnage Tool on it, then restore your phone.

I've always done mine through pwnage and have always had to get my few apps again (sbsettings and fiveicon dock). But other than that, everything is just an easy sync away from iTunes.

lol sorry for not understanding this to well,

so your saying i have to restore my phone to 3.0 then JB with quickpwn

or do i just download the cracked 3.0 firmware and use quickpwn on my phone with 3.0 firmware and it updates it?

First you don't load any cracked beta firmware. You pay $99 to be a developer and get your own. :) Second while it doesn't say "Yes, our tools have been tested to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.0." on the dev team's website, I would think they may, but they also may not.

i am saying when it does come out and if does get JB. i know there is no 3.0 out yet. people jump right to conclusions and start with thier comments

Punk, this is how it goes,

Download legit firmware (the safest way, always make your own through pwnage tool). Use pwnage tool to, using your lingo, 'crack' the firmware. Then you enter the device into DFU mode. Then you restore the device with the cracked firmware.

The restoring & cracking is done in a single step since you are putting the cracked firmware on the device, which wipes the device clean.

Cool?
