I have a jailbroken and unlocked iphone 3G, running on version 3.0 and modem firmware/baseband 04.26.08. I jailbroke it months ago, and the last time I think was when 3.0 came out.

I want to upgrade to the newest version (3.1.2 or 3.1.3) but I'm not sure how since I have an old version and haven't kept it updated. Where do I start? Do I just follow the appropriate instruction here: http://iclarified.com/entries/index.php?caid=2&scid=11&seid=2 (How to jailbreak your iphone 3G on 3.1.2 using pwnage tool or redsn0w)?

Or do I need to do something else? All these instructions are for iphones already running 3.1.2.

Thanks

Since you are unlocked, you probably need to stay unlocked.

Use Pwnage Tool 3.1.4 to create a custom_restore IPSW which will preserve your baseband. Use iTunes to install it, then Ultrasn0w to unlock.

OK, so I follow the instructions here, correct? http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4254

I downloaded PwnageTool 3.1.4, and I downloaded the ipsw file called iPhone 1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw (for 3.1.2), but when I try to select it in PwnageTool, I get an error saying "wrong firmware bundle selected." So what do I do now?? :S
