I am trying to find ways to upgrade my MacBook Pro from 2007 to latest OS. It was given to me by my brother in law. I’m on very low income and can’t afford new MacBook.

Is it possible to upgrade it without breaking my bank and how to go about it?

I don't know exactly which model 2007 MBP you have but here is generally what you can do:

Upgrade the memory to 6GB (maximum)

Install a SSD (if you can afford one) or at least a larger hard drive (7200 RPM)

Upgrade macOS to 10.11.6 (El Capitan) (latest macOS you can install)

Of course it all depends on how well kept the machine is. If it has problems and is not working well, you might not want to spend anything on it at all. You need to consider that a 2007 model Mac is vintage and is going on 12 years old. However, it can still be useful to do many things if it's running well. Good luck.
