How to use a macbook pro as a mouse for mac mini?

I was wondering if anyone knew how to use a mbp to control the desktop of a mac mini. The problem is, my mac mini is old and I don't have a mouse anymore. I have a dialogue box I cant get rid of with just the keyboard on my mac mini (shut down unexpectedly), but i'd like to use my macbook pro as a mouse/keyboard. Is this even possible? If so it has been too complicated for me to figure out.

VNC, but you have to switch on Remote Management on the Mini to do this and I don't think you can without a mouse to switch it on, get a cheap mouse or just loan one.

Press <ctrl> F7 to turn on tabbing between all controls in dialogs. Then press <tab> until the button you want is highlighted. Then press <space> to "click" it.

(You may need also to hold down the Fn key when you press <ctrl> F7 if you've got the Apple functions active (i.e. "Rewind" on F7.)

Once you've got your immediate problem fixed (seriously - get a mouse. don't spend more than $10), you could try Synergy which is a great tool that lets you share one mouse and keyboard across several machines.

I run my mini headless, with my wife's MBA as the keyboard/screen. Turn on screen sharing in the mini's system prefs. Done. Works like a charm.
