how to use android phone to communicate with Imessage

get a mac or iOS device. I don't think there's a way with an Android device.
Just communicate with them via SMS normally using the stock or any other SMS messaging application ....
If you want to send photos or video in a similar way to iMessage (ie. via data), then both you and they will have to use the same software, something like facebook messenger (no facebook account required) or whats'app or Google Hangouts etc.

Seriously though Ram, there won't be a way for your Android phone to use iMessage. As others have mentioned, you can either communicate through iMessage by using Messages on a Mac, or any iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch).
No biggie.
It starts with getting all their contact info and choosing an iMessage alternative like Hangouts or Duo.
Carrying an Android and iPhone daily I find industry standard SMS Text messages fast and effective.
However it's important to note I'm not interested in cutesy animations or other elements designed to thrill the easily amused. Nothing against the casual users with plenty of time to burn, I'm just not one of them.
I have switched over to FB messenger almost exclusively. I prefer it to iMessage. You don't need to convince anyone to join it either since 95% of people have FB
You'd have to convince me...I don't like anything w/Facebook on it. I'd run the other way.

In fact I'm very satisfied with the decision I made years ago to avoid Facebook.
Sms, or apps like whatsapp, skype or signal (open whisper system).
I personaly like skype because it doesnt matter which device i use, it just works.
Right now im trying to start using Signal and inviting friends to use it aswell. It is open source so anyone can read the code, no need to worry about that there would be something else that we dont know.

I get the impression that people have moved to something else now.
I'm on Facebook but refuse to install the messenger app on my phone, as do most or all of the people in my family.
Ii have to organize events with people on the periphery of my business and social circles. FB messenger is a god send for me. When I message someone they are instantly aware of who I am, and everyone else in the group chat instead of just a bunch of random phone numbers.
From there we can easily organize into groups. The other killer feature is browser integration. My gf works in a office that discourages people from messing around with their phones. The fact that she can seamlessly transfer from Windows, to her one plus 3, to a iPad, to a MacBook and never be out of touch is absolutely killer.
The other nice thing is that many of the benefits from iMessage are fully available on FB messenger. I love to send gifs to joke around with my buddies. iMessage allows giant gifs but sms is seriously limited. FB has a pg13 gif search built right in.

I'd reach for Whatsapp over FB Messenger any day, including Sunday.
Facebook is not your friend. I opened an account years ago. I still don't use it.
You are under surveillance 24 hour a day now. Even if you never go on fb, just a catalog of your Google searches, combined with the cookies you collect in your internet browsing are enough to pinpoint exactly who you are.
Unless you totally unplug, they know everything about you.
You might as well take advantage of the features offered in exchange.
Just last night I got a text through messenger from a guy who I haven't spoke to in 20 years who is in town for a conference. We are going out for cocktails on Saturday, and that simply wouldn't have been possible unless he tracked down some random person from high school who still has my new number.
Unless you totally unplug, they know everything about you.
You might as well take advantage of the features offered in exchange.

I'm a huge fan of Signal. If I was an Android user, that would be my default SMS client. Works great for SMS and even better with other Signal users. I wish more people used it.

yeah... it is abit hard trying to use when everybody else - even my bf - refuse to use it 
i quess that would help if i deleted the whatsapp account - then they would need to send me sms or just install Signal
