iOS How to use popen() command

i hav a problem using popen() command in iphone programming....

Is it possible to open an MAIL application using popen() command in iphone development....If yes thn PLEASE help me for the needfull...

Could you be more specific? What do you mean with "a MAIL application"? and popen? if the problem is UNIX comands, maybe you can use NSTask.
But, still I don't think this is the problem right?

I very much doubt that this will work on the iPhone, and even if it does it will not be accepted by Apple into the app store. The SDK agreement is exceptionally clear on the use of external binaries. I suggest you review the agreement carefully, especially section 3.3.2 which states:

"An Application may not itself install or launch other executable code by any means"...

hey...ma problem is .."I want to open any application or an MAIL application in iphone....so wat shell command can i prefer...if its POPEN command thn can u'al help me with some sample code...

I think Robbie is right,
Third parties apps cannot access other applications rather than itself.
Even tough you use UNIX commands, you probable will not have enough rights to access others apps.
Maybe in jail braked ones you can achieve it but it will be only for you.
