Hey all,

Slight little problem, got a 2011 mini and use it as HTPC with plex, however when its sleeping it wont wake on me using apples remote, is there a fix at all?

Thanks

it is possible

If you can downgrade to snow leopard that is the easiest way to gain that functionality back.
Otherwise

install
http://www.iospirit.com/products/remotebuddy/
and its driver

then set it up fully

- test to see if you can wake it up with the remote

if you Cant then uninstall remotebuddy and it should work.

I did this successfully with a macbook pro last summer after I figured out that lion removed that functionality.

If you are on snow leopard already I would still give remote buddy a try.

*if you want to try to save some $, then try just installing http://www.iospirit.com/labs/candelair/ first*

Iospirit's Remote Buddy software and drivers are incredible and a must have if you want to do crazy stuff with that little remote.

There are some people reporting that upgrading to Mountain Lion fixes the problem. The other solution is to use the darkwake kernel option on boot as described here. I just came across it today also, and I'm going to try it out this evening.

I'm also quite annoyed by it!
