:eek:IM NEW TO THE MAC WORLD I STILL HAVE A PC BUT MY BROTHER GAVE ME A IMAC .SOMEONES OLD PASSWORD IS NEEDID TO START IT RIGHT FROM PLUGGING IT IN I DONT WANT TO JUNK IT I NEED SOME HELP SEND A MAC WIZ PLEASE I ONLY KNOW CLIPART OH YEAH PLEASE RECOMEND GREAT SOFTWARE THANK$;)
 
You have to login with the administrartor account and manage the user accounts in your System Preferences.
Also there you can change the login settings to stop askign you for the password when you start your Mac.

do a google search - i took home a work powerpc ages ago and found a way to boot into shell and delete the accounts so that it acted like a new machine and let m,e creat new username and password!!!
 
look on the bottom of the imac you should see the memory slots. open it up to see if you have 2 sticks if you do pop1 out ,restart mac, I've read that lets you get into it. its a old imac trick but not sure if it still works today.
