I've looked at the Z3 compact before since it is the smallest one handed device with near flagship specs:
- 4.6 inch IPS screen
- 319 ppi
- 2600 mAh battery!
- 20mp camera
- MicroSD slot
- Water/Dust Proof
- Magnetic charging port
- Snapdragon 801
- 2gb of RAM
- Front facing speakers
- Notification LED
- Tap to wake
- Latest Android KitKat

Before the Z3 compact was only available in Europe, but now its available through Sony's U.S. online store you can get it for $376 contract free by:
  1. Getting sony's student discount (10% off $529)
  2. Getting sony's credit card ($100 statement credit)

Saw this on Slickdeals front page and wanted to share with those who might be looking for one. For those who want an Android phone near the size of the 5s (see size comparison below), there isn't a better deal out there. Even at $476 after just student discount the phone is a bargain for those in the market for flagship specs but one-handed use :)

With slick deals getting on this, this deal will be shut down very soon. They tend to abuse everything

While I know the slickdeals effect all too well (damn scalers!), I'm not sure this deal will get shut down at all since it's not like this is a price mistake... simply is normal MSRP and being a smart consumer knowing which discounts you can use to minimize your out-of-pocket costs.

Best buy runs student discounts on Macs & iPads all the time that show up on slickdeals and are never shut down, plus a $100 credit for signing up for a credit card can be considered normal.

Making a credit card just to save 100 seems overkill to me. Thats just my opinion though.

That is cheap!

I agree. At $476 with student discount I think it's the lowest cost Android phone with near flagship specs available.

The 10% discount for creating a student account is really nice. Thanks!

Happy to help :)

Yeah, I personally wouldn't sign up for the credit card just for an extra $100 off, but I figured I would just provide the information and let others decide for themselves if it's worth it for them.

Even if you just used the student discount and bought the Z3 Compact for $476 it's still an great value in the sea of oversized and overpriced $650+ smartphones...

Beats out the Nexus line.
