It is cool. In more ways than one . My iPhone heats up a lot more than the iPad.

Surprisingly cool. It does get warm when running games like warp gate for a few hours, but that's with the apple case which I'm sure hinders cooling.

Mine gets warm after 45 or so seconds in the microwave, but it cools off pretty quickly afterwards.. Haven't tried the oven yet

You can rest your martini on it - as long as it's not in one of those new-fangled stemless glasses.

It can get slightly warm. But only slightly. Nothing that would be the slightest bit uncomfortable.

I've not noticed any heat on the thing at all. Even sitting in the sun reading or playing 3D games, it has been cool and entirely functional since day 1 (literally).

A far cry from the POS Netbook it replaced.

The only part that feels warm is where my hands were holding it, others wise it doesn't heat up

It uses a flash drive, and there is no optical disk. No added-on rubbish like a camera, ect.

The OS is not a file system such as OSX. Therefore, there is not major stress of reading and writing all the time. Which causes major heating.
Among other things which just are not present in the iPad OS.

That is the beauty of this OS, and people complaining and wanting a file-system ect are **** wits who know nothing.

I certainly hope Apple stays obstinate, otherwise all these ignorant pricks will ruin what is a great device for people that know-what-is-what.

It heats up the air underneath it so much that it actually develops a cushion of air and starts to float around like one of those air hockey pucks.
