So I haven't owned an iPhone before but my Air 2 (which replaced the 1st gen iPad. Good Lord was that a big upgrade lol) has seen a ton of use over the past 4 years and I've got a bit of a conundrum.
I currently am phoneless (not counting landline) and I'm debating about whether or not to purchase either an iPhone SE (to pair with my Air 2 until new Pro's come out) or a larger phone either the XR or XS Max and I got to thinking if the handoff features are hassle free as far as getting calls and texts on the iPad when at home (if on same wifi network of course), having a lower cost/older iPhone with the iPad at home might be a better option.
I don't really NEED pencil support (it would be a toy nothing more) but I do enjoy a lot of video content and reading on my Air 2 as well as sometimes gaming so its a toss up. Sure the larger iPhones are still a size downgrade but it would be nice having everything on one device. On the other hand if iOS's continuity features work well between devices I could just tote around an older iPhone and have the larger iPad for stuff at home for pretty much the same cost.
I'd appreciate you guys's thoughts on this if you have both the iPhone and iPad and bounce between them as far as texts and calls go.
