Hi.

My biggest doubt about switching to Mac was gaming. I like gaming and since I have an iPhone, I love Mac, so I need a solution.

I am going to get a 21,5" iMac. The 1TB and ATI 4670 model. For all day and photographic purpose, will be perfect.

And now, what about gaming? I like indie, RPG, strategy and actions games.

What about Dragon Age on Mac? The games that I most play on my creepy 6600GT and AMD3,2 Ghz computer are Valve's Steam games, Dragon Age and stretegy games like Civilization IV and Colonization. Also Modern Warfares. And Mass Effect.:D

Will I have some kind problems to play them well? (Well means at least medium settings, 1366x768 (HD Ready), and 25-30 fps)

I'm running many new games in 1920x1080 maximum settings, but other games I have to run it in 1280x720 to get max. In some cases, you'll have to use medium for textures, and high for everything else. Divinity 2(Win) I run it in 1920x1080 max everything except for shadows. I'm guessing the C2D 3.06ghz + ati hd 4670 make for a great gaming combination. I run Dirt 2(Win) with everything maxed out, but in 1280x720 at 45fps. Dragon Age Origins(Mac) 1920x1080, everything max except texture. I really wish Apple would put more memory on videocards, Mac's have come of age for gaming, but just short thanks to the quarter of industry standard video memory.

I do play Mass Effect 2(Win) on max settings in 1920x1080, but I think I might have a few things on medium, like textures and shadows.

*Note: I have not yet had to use "low" on ANY new or older games, and I have a lot of new ones, Medium was the lowest, and the FPS is so smooth, it's nearly nauseating.

WOW!

That's a great new, a really great new for me.

Well, Steam games like Team Fortress 2 is my most played game, run perfecly maxed out and Full HD. So, Portal and Half Life games will run perfectly too.

My scared games were Dragon Age and Mass Effect, but for you have said, I will be able to play them perfectly. Dragon Age, with expansion, were are talking about more than one hundred hours. Also Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2...:D:eek::D

I can't wait. I want my iMac NOW!

Just want to chime in. I have the ati 4670 model too. It plays tf2 l4d2 and mw2 all maxed out no aa no aaf. Very buttery smooth. I love my iMac.

Valve's games run perfect on my old Macbook, just in a lower resolution than that iMac of yours! Yea they'll run great.
If you're planning on installing Bootcamp for better game performance, be sure to also install an overclock utility. Without even breaking into a sweat my iMac's GPU can jump another 200mhz which means I can turn up the effects in some games.

It's really great!

And what about my favourite actions games, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare (1 & 2)? How they run?

And what about adventures like the new Tales of Money Island or games like that?
