How will I use my thunderbolt port if I have a non-Thunderbolt Cinema Display?

I'm picking up a mini soon and just realized this. Is there a splitter I can get or is there another work around?

The only real option is to use a device with TB Passthrough (which many of the external devices have) or a docking system like the one offered by Belkin.

And because Thunderbolt is based on DisplayPort technology, the video standard for high-resolution displays, any Mini DisplayPort display plugs right into the Thunderbolt port. To connect a DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, or VGA display, just use an existing adapter.

Or if you want to use other TB devices, put the display at the end of the chain.

You can also use the HDMI port and the DVI adapter with a converter that goes back to MiniDisplayport, like this: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8913

It's clunky with a lot of extra cables but it's the only way to use your display with Thunderbolt devices that don't do passthrough.

Make sure the TB device -- external drive, hub, etc -- has an outgoing TB port.

I use my Thunderbolt port with an adapter for one of my two displays (they both have DVI and HDMI).

The adapter is available on the Apple site - should be only $30 or so.
