How will you find out about the August 7th announcements? If MacRumors provides live coverage, I'll probably be watching that the whole time. Then, when the keynote stream gets published, I'll watch that. That's usually what I do for Apple events. How about you?

If they have demo displays on Tues or Wed I plan to go see them right away. Sorry even with all the hype etc, I still can't order something like that without seeing it in person. Plus I gotta check with a couple ex-employees at the Apple Store if they are getting EPP right away or not. (Sometimes with hot new product they delay the EPP availability until initial demand is met.) If not that will be a tough choice, wait another month for 15% off or buy right away at full price. Especially since I will BTO and the 15% also applies to CPU, RAM, HDD, GPU and Applecare options. And with the EPP discount it makes it worth it to go with the Apple RAM vs 3rd party. Of course this all depends on what the specs and options are.

Arn has said that there will be no MR Live coverage of this event.

I'll be checking Apple.com that morning. Hopefully they'll update it by 11:00 or so. When I order my iMac depends on:

- whether they actually announce one (99% sure now)
- if it's immediately available (it better be!)
...and most importantly...
- how cool it is

If it's a total WOW, I'm ordering it right from Apple.com without even seeing a demo. Most likely, I'll wait for the Keynote stream, then order.

In the unlikely event that it's not that impressive, I'll wait until the local store has it.

How do you go about watching the announcement? Will it be streaming live from the Apple site?

Not live, no. They'll probably post a QuickTime stream of it later in the day (around 3 PM PDT).

Depends on how big the event is, though, and how they've set up the new product website. If it has a lot of video demoes, they might hold off on the announcement stream.

this isn't an event like WWDC or MWSF.
i'll check macrumors as they'll post the details as they're announced.

I will wake up Wednesday morning, log on to MR and check out the news stories. I'll discover that a tablet Mac in a 13" form factor with LED screen was not released, and proceed to buy a Black MacBook for myself.

Apple hasn't streamed anything live for a long time now. They will probably post it after a few hours after the event though.

I'll probably call the local Apple store after the announcement to see if they have the new Imacs in stock, or when they expect to have them. I'm way too impatient to order them on-line if they're available in the Apple Stores.

I'll have my browser open to Macrumors.com, Apple.com & Appleinsider.com and continiously hit refresh every 2 minutes for the whole day until I see a report indicating the new iMac is out and ready for sale!
