My 64Gb iPad arrived at my doorstep at 9:30 and I was so supped. I had a plan since march 12th though, I'd use my iPhone to tether with MyWi when I'm out, yes it's a huge drain on the battery, but in the car I can plug my iPhone in to use the 3G network..

This is my temporary fix, I'll sell this unit when I can get a hold of the 3G.

What are the rest of you planning on doing? Keeping it around the house as an amenity?

keep it at home and use my iPhone 3GS with cellular data network outside the house. but since the iPad is so small and thin, i might as well bring it everywhere since it doesn't really burden me and there's plenty of free WiFi anywhere these day.

I thought so too, and having my iPhone around doesn't hurt if I ever need 3G.

Carrying a small backback doesn't hurt either, as I am a student.

MyWi :D When budget allows, I would love to get a MiFi, every day I am somewhere or in a situation where one of those would come in handy.

tether it to my jailbroken iPhone :)

+1 - but for the most part I use my devices within range of wifi - work from home, gf house, etc. Honestly I don't need to be ota with the ipad for any reason I can see at this point... and if so, see above.

I thought I saw an article about the Palm Pre Plus for Verizon having free mobile hot spot. Now I'll never give up my iPhone for a Pre, but I think it's a real score to use along side an iPad. (just a thought)

I will use my iPad at both home and office until my 3G unit arrives. I have wireless up and running at both locations.

I love this thing. Using it now and the keyboard is awesome.

The iPad is worth every penny! Thanks apple.

I got android phone, the native wifi tether does not drain much battery at all, probably can go all day on it? Don't know longest I used it was a couple hours and the battery barely moves and if for some reason it does drain i've got a spare battery I can swap out so buying the 3g model would be a waste of money for me.

I've got wifi at home, wifi at work, wifi at Starbucks (2 free hours per day), wifi where my kids take weekend music lessons, I've got an Airport Express for use in hotel rooms without wifi and I can do wifi tethering thru my Verizon Droid cellphone.

Don't really need the 3G model.

Same as a Laptop

You can use it outside (of your house).
You just can't access the internet unless you're near a hot spot ;)
