I often sell used computers to friends and the public at large. I believe in never buying new hardware as there are SO many machines out there that are more than sufficent for most peopels needs.

That said - Have you ever sold a Mac with OCLP via Craigslist, eBay, or FB marketplace? If I were to do this, I would be very clear about the software patch. Personally I did experience an issue once so far with OCLP with an update. I also realize that other issues can arise.

I could offer support in the future if it's a local sale. Otherwise I would have to sell as-is on eBay.

Thanks for your insight

It would help if you told us what "OCLP'ed" means...
Probably this: OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

To OP I would suggest that unless you are sure the buyer is tech savvy enough to understand what you did and what they are buying, I wouldn't sell it to them. Most people won't have a clue... Sounds like a good way to get an angry customer demanding a refund.

i dont think Ebay would mind because they have some regulation over software configuration issues
but the iMac 2011 running Monterey is what someone might want.
would i purchase a OCLP very good conditioned 2010 MacBook pro running Monterey
for not extra charge or the same price as high Sierra, i might be interested.

the only thing I'm thing is how safe your info is selling an OpenCore Mac can be.
there is that data storage on a drive that might contain some personal log in times.

I'd just flash it back to the most recent OS. No way I'd risk a potential software glitch 180 days from now that leads to a PayPal 'not as described' claim.

It isn't like PayPal or eBay can be trusted to begin with. I sold a camera lens on eBay via PayPal. They buyer even gave the item a great review. 18 months later the buyer contacted his credit card service and claimed he had accidentally bought the item. Both eBay and PayPal told me that I would win the case because the buyer had not claimed the item was purchased by mistake within the time allotted. Yet his CC service won out and PayPay refunded the buyer, plus I never got the lens returned to me. I have never used eBay or PayPal since.
