I find the iphone's calendar very unsatisfactory. It could easily be better than it is. I would like to see

1. syncing with Google calendars, Yahoo calendars, Facebook, or whatever you want to sync it with. I'd like to be able to see each calendar together and separated.
2. I'd like to be able to turn on a countdown on certain events.
3. It would be good to have a way to text appointments or some other method of sharing things you intend to do with other people.

This is intended to be a breakout from The Official iOS 5/6 and iPhone 5/6 Wishlist Thread

I don't see anything wrong with it. I've got my two Google Calendars and my girlfriend's calendar synced to my iPhone, and she has my calendars and hers synced to her iPhone. We both have the ability to create events and reminders on each other's calendar, and can seperate them out to see who's doing what at what time. It's actually a great setup.

As a musician with colleagues who use Google Calendar or MobileMe calendar I can email them invites to gigs, which is really helpful.

Not seeing what the problem is (apart from the lack of custom-colours and those awful pastel shades!)

Better support for calendar invitations would be nice. It's far too limited as it currently stands. MobileMe to MobileMe and Exchange to Exchange is about all we have for invitation support. No google, yahoo, or cross calendar (ie, exchange to mobileme) support for invitations.

This one feature is the single biggest complaint from me after dumping my blackberry. Invitation support on the blackberry was (probably still is) the best in the business.

If only the iPhone would just support .ics attachments in emails that importable into the calendar app that would be awesome!

Oh boy.... I improved it by buying another calendar that syncs with it that does a lot more of what I'd expect a basic calendar program to do.

Stuff like

1. Week view
2. Showing appt names in the month view
3. Ability to copy appts to other dates.
4. A good todo list (Shows blocks of time on a list of days of your schedule... kinda like how ical shows the week view but you scroll through your calendar so you don't just view one set of days)

It's not perfect either btu the better calendar I found does not synch with ical (which is important since I have mobileme so I sync between my mac ical and my iphone's calendar) and is 10 bux (it has tasks, ability to remind you of tasks, even location abilities that if it senses you are near a task/appt it can remind you. And a really nice interface).

The ical app in the iphone is almost useless in my opinion (if nothing else in month view you don't even get to see what your appointments are, just dots that there is something on that day).

A couple of things off the top of my head that I love from [app="Calvetica"]Calvetica[/app], which has replaced the default calendar app for me at this time:

1) Being able to see, in month view, colored dots representing my different calendars. I don't have to click on a day to see that I have *something* for work or church or any other specific calendar scheduled that day.

2) Landscape week agenda view. So, so awesome.

I just saw your post in the wishlist thread and went ahead and added all of your wishes to the iOS wishlist thread. Hope that makes you guys happy. :p
