I have a 2020 27" iMac along with the following:

1TB Samsung SSD for local TM backups
16TB OWC Thunderbay 4 - primary
20TB OWC Thunderbay 4 - backup

Connected to the two Thunderbays via DVI to Thunderbolt are two external 24" Dell monitors. (I have no other TB ports avail as of today)

My primary 16TB drive is approximately 75% full BUT I don't anticipate it growing anywhere near the same pace it has for the past 10 years. I have Crashplan as well and every file is backed up there too. Have had a side hustle photography business that has done very well but my real work has taken off and I have nowhere near the time I used to have dedicated to that business.

What I am trying to do is quiet down my office a little and increase responsiveness on my iMac. The 16TB drive spins up quite frequently for reasons mostly unknown to me. How can I trim all of this down or would you leave it as it sits?

Get a nice little cabinet for the OWCs?

I had a music production studio for many years, and when we went all in-the-box as we say, with computer based production, we had big noisy computers that could not sit next to you in the control room when mixing. My solution was a hole in the wall and noisy stuff in the next room. Ah, the wonderful sound of silence.
