i was wondering i have a iPhone 6s Plus and hows the performance between ios 9.2 and ios 9.3 is it any faster than 9.2 and is the lag fixed in 3d touch let me know

So far it's noticeably improved in performance. I'm hesitant to answer as it could all be the placebo effect but certain items that used to have some lag in them (control center, landscape 3D Touch, etc) are all markedly better. Obviously it may vary for each person, but so far with the performance improvements in seeing combined with the Notes Touch ID lock and Night Mode, I'm very pleased so far.

3D Touch, Animations in App Switcher are all extremely smooth. The one lag I found is the landscape 3D Touch still. I'm hoping the performance stays this good for the final release

I really hope Apple will add "Reduce Animation" Accessibility setting, either eliminating most animation altogether or speed it up by 2x or more. Most of these animation just leads to perception of slowness.

you have reduce motion under accessibility menu in settings

VERY close to joining to get 9.3.
[doublepost=1452628056][/doublepost]How often do the betas usually get updated? Every few weeks?

Been using every iPhone since the 4S. The 9.3 update looks pretty compelling. I have a 64GB 6S+. Very close to joing the free beta program to get 9.3.

Any especially strong experiences with the iOS beta program pro or con? How buggy are these?

The UI performance is great. I am having problems with Bluetooth though. I get little breaks in audio playback when connected to my car stereo via Bluetooth. I've also noticed that my Apple Watch is draining about twice as fast. I did not install the Apple Watch beta, and actually used my watch less... So it's nothing to do with the watch... I think it's related to my phones Bluetooth connection to the watch. My phone battery is also draining pretty quick.

Try rebooting both the phone and the watch. Also try toggling bluetooth on and off.

On 9.3 and WatchOS 2.1 here, watch battery is behaving normally.

Reduce Motion does not speed up animation at all. For instance, going from an app to home screen takes 1 second whether you set Reduce Motion setting turned on or off.

6S Plus has improved performance all round. Immediately noticeable is Touch 3D animation is at proper 60 fps. Yes it's coming from me.. The stutter hater.

There will be minor random stutters here and there but that is iOS 9's speciality. We are coming to terms with Apple's lowered standards.

it doesn’t speed up animation, but it disables them for a fading, more smooth, transition.
By the way, I just installed iOS 9.3 in my iPad 3 and is much faster than iOS 9.2.1!

My 6s Plus is working perfectly with iOS 9.3 Beta 1. But the truth is I wasn't having any issues with iOS 9.2.x either. Everything is fluid and quick to respond. I am carefully watching Battery usage but so far it's on par with previous releases. All new features including Night Mode, Notes enhancements, Touch 3D enhancements, etc are working very nicely. iOS 9.3 Beta 1 is certainly a worthwhile update but we must all remember that it is still a beta release!

I upgraded because I hated the 3D Touch lag on my 6s+. It's gone now and as smooth as a 6s! Nothing really improved it except this update! Landscape 3D Touch needs work, but I am so glad to know that my device is capable of 60fps everywhere.

Good job Apple, slowly coming together.

Nope. And don't expect the public beta to be released until the dev beta 2 comes out. With bigger updates with brand new features such as this one usually have 1-2 developer builds before seeing the first public beta build.

It was always capable...I think Apple has finally worked towards the optimization.

No performance issues aside from a weird battery issue.. my apple watch "calendar" app is using about 70% of the battery usage since updating to 9.3 b1.1 .. The battery itself still lasts all day, but doesn't last the usual 2-3 days that I had been getting in 9.2

Even with Reduce Transparency set to ON, the 3D Touch lags like mo'fo' on landscape mode. On vertical mode it works fine. I never use landscape on homescreen so not bothered, but surprised at how choppy it is on landscape, damn.

Yeah, it's bad. I submitted a report back in November and they haven't done sh*t about it. Now, if you are in landscape mode and switch to spotlight and then go back to the home screen, everything is so smooth, try it.

Same here, phone battery draining about 2x faster on 9.3 beta
