How's the latest Sierra running on MBP 2010 15 inch

yeah it's an old clunker but hey it works pretty dandy with SSD + maxed ram. Was wondering if anyone was running sierra on one of these and how does it compare to el cap? thanks!

Same year 13" Mac book pro runs pretty smooth, it is better than el capitan overall.

Late 2011 15" MBP here and its as zippy as El Capitan as far as I can tell. Havent had one app that doesnt load...so far.
I'm running Public Beta 7.

That's good to know. I've held off updating from Yosemite and have been considering updating to this one. I'm still running an older MacBook Air.

I'd think the number of people that want to boot their OS from a USB 2.0 drive are likely in the minority. Especially those with a MacBook Air.

macOS has been pretty terrible with spinners since mavericks. It's worse in Yosemite +

Windows 10 runs on a spinner way better

I have a vague memory of finding Mavericks faster than Mountain Lion. If I recall correctly there was more than one technical explanation … one of which involved confidential software (so I can't share the details).
