First off, hello all!

Ive been searching all around macrumors, apple, and even hp for troubleshooting tips, and for the life of me I can not get this printer to work. Everytime I send a job to print, it gets stopped. I am currently using OSX 10.5.8 with HPF4140 Printer connected via USB, and the problems seem to have started when I updated my mac.

Ive tried the following methods thus far:
- Resetting print systems; and re-adding the printer with appropriate HP drivers.
- Resetting print systems; and re-adding the printer with multiple generic drivers
- Installing 9.7.1 hp software package
All methods were completed with necessary, and maybe even redundant reboots in between

Also, printer maintenance functions (nozzle check, head cleaning, test page, etc) all work! and for whatever reason god has chosen to torment me, I can not get this to work! has anyone on 10.5.8 been able to fix their "Job Stopped" issue successfully? Please share your insight. Thanks in advance!

Also, when I mentioned the use of multiple drivers, I meant I tried atleast 5 different drivers (F4100 series, D4100 series, 2 generic kinds, and something else), with resets and re-adds in between, and nothing works.

I tried the F4100 series drivers as that is obviously the appropriate drivers, and as they were chosen for me automatically.

Unless someone can help, I cant help but think that Steve Jobs is lining his pockets from printer manufacturers, and possibly creating some kind of scam to make consumers waste $$$ on printers. I love apple, but I will hate them too if my printer cant get working.... it boggles the heck out of me bc it was working a week ago before i did the stupid update to 10.5.8!!!! fml:mad:
