I'm trying to find out if above will work with 2011 macmini. It has hdmi, dvi and dp so I'm assuming I could either go hdmi>hdmi or thunderbolt>miniDPadaptor>dp. There are posts about suggesting it works on the older mac minis. Anyone know of it working with the new mini? Dont want to fluff it with choice of wrong monitor.

thanks

Sorry, I can't answer your question directly, but the HP ZR24w works fine with my 2011 Macbook Air (using a cheap, Toshiba-branded, MiniDP to DP cable bought off eBayUK). I'd be surprised if it didn't work with a 2011 Mac mini.

Yeh I imagine you're probably right.Tb being a new implementation I jus wondered if there were any quirks with just a single monitor on an adaptor - seem to be some issues with more than one..

Are all the monitor's functions available? I've been using older Dell Ultrasharps and, while I really like them, I can't access certain adjustments, like contrast on my Macs... I've been thinking of upgrading to a larger display, and the HP keeps coming up on peoples' recommended lists...

I have an HP ZR24w that I bought in December, and its beautiful. I was looking for an IPS standard gamut display, and this is one of the only ones left. Its also 8-bit so it doesn't suffer from the dithering issues described here:

When I go to System Preferences, I don't see that I can adjust brightness/contrast/etc.. I have to do that on the display.

I have my ZR24w hooked up to a KVM switch - I switch back & forth between my work laptop and the 2011 mac mini I have for home use. Everything is hooked up via DVI cables.

The only thing to keep in mind with the ZR24w is that it doesn't have a 1:1 pixel mapping mode. This is really only an issue if you want to hook up a Playstation 3 to it; using it as a normal monitor will work fine.

Well, I have the ZR22w and that works beautifully with my 2011 Mac Mini. The Mini arrived this evening so I haven't had a chance to really test things yet, but as for the monitor, I can confirm that the ZR 22 is plug and play. Mind you, you might have to adjust the Brightness & Contrast.
