HTC HD2 VS IPHONE which one is better?

review of the HTC HD"

The HTC HD2, which is expected to challenge Apple iPhone's market supremacy, will hit the UK shops by the end of current month.

The HD2 is equipped with 4.3-inch touchscreen and a 5-megapixel camera.

It also offers Wi-Fi, music player, integrated GPS and FM radio.

Taiwanese firm HTC said that HD2's comparatively large display and on screen keyboard enables more accurate and faster typing.

Speaking about the much-anticipated device, Peter Chou, chief executive of HTC, said, "At HTC we believe that the best things in life should be experienced, not explained."

Remember the HTC HD2? That awesome HTC Windows Mobile 6.5 device that sports HTC’s Sense skin? Well, it’s just been given a price and a launch date, and it’s less than a month away.

Scheduled for a November 20 launch the HTC HD2 has been slapped with a fairly hefty £550 price tag. Naturally that’s SIM-free so you can expect plenty of deals from the networks when they offer it on contract.

So why are we so excited by the HTC HD2? Apart from the fact it sports HTC Sense to make Windows Mobile 6.5 a more pleasant experience, it’s an all-round nifty phone. It sports a five-megapixel camera with dual LEC flash, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G and a standard headphone jack. And that’s not even mentioning the sizeable 4.3-inch touchscreen.

I love the Flo 3D with the HD2, but I'm not a fan of 6.5… I used to like WM, but have grown out of it.

The HD2 runs WM 6.5 and that sucks. If only it runs the iPhone OS.. then.. :p

Show a thread some love. If you're going to do it...

Gizmodo review - http://gizmodo.com/5400593/htc-touch-hd2-review-a-tragedy

The HD2 is, without qualification, the best Windows Mobile phone on the market right now. And being a Windows Mobile phone isn't all bad: The browsers have Flash, Exchange support is perfect, and multitasking is seamless. On top of that, the Sense shell is an impressive piece of software, especially in terms of social networking and media playback. But the point remains: Even behind the very convincing disguise of a modern phone, Windows Mobile is lagging well behind its competitors in terms of new app development, fast OS development and general user experience, and by the time you get your hands on this phone—and just as importantly, by the time your contract is halfway through—Windows Mobile 6.5, Sense or no Sense, will feel like a complete dinosaur. Hence the "wait"—for a similar phone with better software, or for Windows Mobile 7. That said, if you're a Windows Mobile fan, or aware of its various quirks and still willing to take the dive, this is the finest Windows Phone in the world, bar none.

Snapdragon works with the larger size.

It seems it's the best Windows Mobile phone, mostly because they've stripped as much WM out of it as they can. Telling.

Interesting to see the 4.3 inch format - a larger size - less palm grip friendly, but still useable, and day to day - it's a bigger screen, and more resolution available. Snapdragon's power being shown well - Apple will likely have something to counter that soon. I wouldn't underestimate what Apple will do in the next 2 generations. They've had skunkworks on GPU/CPU for a year now, and they're known to collaborate pretty well with chip makers when they want to. A case in point - Look at Androids internal design vs the iPhone. Much easier to replace/get inside the iPhone 3GS than the Android.

WM7 is so late for the party it's starting to tell.

As soon as HTC loads Android 2.X on that bad boy, it will be THE phone. No doubt about it.

Its a good phone but it runs WM which is just a terrible shame. If only it ran Android Sense

Let's see

iPhone is rated best consumer AND business smartphone 2009

compared to Windows Mobile commonly known for its low usability

Which one is better? Jeez.

As great a device as I'm sure it is, there's no chance of that lofty goal becoming reality.

The OP frequently make unsubstantiated claims. Note many threads started by him are sent to wasteland or locked.

I will be all over the first WM7 device. I'll buy one just to hammer this pos 3GS into the sidewalk. But until it's a WM7 device, HTC couldn't pay me to take one. Seems like they've been pushing WM6 & 6.5 for the past 10 years. This is a good looking phone and it will most likely get a WM7 update in the future but until then, wrong answer, fellas.

Put Android 2.0 on it and you got a good contender. WM is terrible (hoping WM7 will turn that around).

The resolution would definitely be nice, but the size.. Not so sure, try touching every corner with the thumb of the hand you're holding it in.. Not possible naturally
when will they stop? 5"? 6"?
The ram is double the iPhone's,right? Hope that's coming next year.. Not sure about the CPU vs the iphone's.. All the rest is "meh"

t0mat0 , Gizmodo's review is best to describe HD2. It's the software that is terribly poor and pulls the entire device to its downfall. If it fully runs Android, this would be a devil. But with WM, it's a tragedy.

I'd wait for WM7 before getting a Window Mobile phone again. Of course the last WM phone I had ran WM2003…
