HTC One A9 dummy leak gives our best look yet at the unreleased iPhone copy :D

Yet another leak has shown up of the rumored HTC One ‘Aero’, also known as the One A9. HTC is expected to officially unveil the smartphone during a virtual event on October 20. Today’s leak comes via Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @OnLeaks) and shows a dummy unit from virtually every angle, giving us our most clear look yet at the iPhone-like smartphone…

I gave up worrying about this a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure all phones look reasonably alike. I know it's close, but it's not as bad as theverge is making it seem.

Yeah, it's completely reasonable to argue Apple ripped off the HTC M7's unibody design.

Seriously the only similarity imo might be the antenna lines. And even they look different. Logo is in a different place, camera too. No Apple logo in the front, ff camera is different position. But to each his own. I do wish iPhone had the dual stereo speakers though.

Didn't the iPod touch 5th generation have an aluminum design? In 2012?

Geez htc loves their logos. Front, back, even an att logo too.

So sad. HTC was once the industry leader when it comes to design and build quality has become a pure copycat and only because they have become complacement with their M series (the M9 is a JOKE)...

It still looks similar to my Incredible S I had a few years back.

They all copy each other to an extent but the iPhone is still more desirable. Nobody really cares outside of a forum though.

Looks more like the One than the iPhone 6. I guess if you want to get picky it has some design cues that Apple ripped off the One

Looks as though the iPhone 6/6s' antenna lines match the iPhone 5 and 5s.

iPhone 5: 2012.

It does look like it. Looks to me like the 6 just took the iPod touch 5th gen aluminum and had to put antenna lines on it. Probably easier to manufacture just having 1 material on the back. I mean can we say everybody copied the iPhone from 2007?

This thread is unbelievable. Every company we're talking about ripped off a different company. Enough. A phone is a phone. Like the phone you have.

Yup. The antenna lines of the 5/5s carried over to the 6/6s, they just put it on the iPod touch body.

Your right, the 2007 iPhone was aluminum with antenna lines as well.

What's unbelievable was your previous post.

It's actually not reasonable.

Htc copied Apple's iPod touch design hoping no one wouldn't notice.

Back on topic, yeah htc has no shame, if their past phones were any indication this one will flop as well.

Regardless of whether it looks like an iPhone or not, I can't believe they decided to do away with front boom sound speaker !!!

A phone is just not a phone! There are a lot of ideas how you can create a beautiful design.

They used to be, but that time has passed. There is nothing from the hardware side that makes me feel like any phone can be a significant departure.

At the end of the day, a phone is like a car. It's made from key pieces. The software is the engine and all the intangibles that make a phone great. Most of the new design cues are essentially enhancements.

This is all based on the premise that the iPod Touch is ripped off the iPhone which ripped off previous non-Apple touch screen devices.

Get over it. Apple is already losing its way with subpar services like Siri and iCloud mail. The last thing we need is for Apple to become anti-competitive in hardware design.
