HTC One anyone having this issue?

when i talk on the phone my face/cheek is activitating random buttons

first it was the speaker button that kept coming on

now today in the only two calls i made on the phone it randomly went to airplane mode in the middle of my call.

any idea what could be going on?

anyway to kep it from happening?

Sounds like your screen isn't proximtory sensing and turning itself off when put to your ear.

I'd suggest a factory reset tbh.

This reminds me of my first iphone 4 and that indeed was a faulty proximity sensor. That said, are you using a case with your phone and are you using a screen protector? Both of those were factors (other than a faulty proximity sensor) with respect to the iPhone 4.

i get that with the loudspeaker turning itself on during calls, nothing else though.

weird problem i have is when i hook my one up with my fm transmitter in my car it sometimes starts google now and tries to dial the last number in my call log like 10 times. i had this issue with the samsung note too so it must be an android problem in general.

That said, are you using a case with your phone and are you using a screen protector? Both of those were factors (other than a faulty proximity sensor) with respect to the iPhone 4.

hmmm...yep i am using a case...the poetic atmosphere and oddly enough i am waiting for them to send me a new one because mine is falling apart on one corner after a week ... wish i had just gone with the refund now :/ where exactly is the sensor on the phone? i assume near where your ear would be?

yep, proximity sensor seems to have an issue, i hope factory resetting it helps.

the two holes on the left of the speaker hide the proximity sensor.

so, have you reset it yet, has the issue been solved? i'm also planning to buy an htc one, do you think it is worth $600?

I should have not drawn an analogy with the iphone 4 as on reflection this would not be caused either by a case or the proximity sensor. The proximity sensor is one of the two openings to the left of the top speaker grill. No case is going to cover that nor any screen protector.

Maybe not on the One I suppose. Many people did have issues with the Nexus 4 though because of the way the whole front is made of glass so the screen protector went over it.

if that is indeed the sensors location then it could be an issue of the way i usually hold my phone to my ear. i hold it more angular than flat. a lot of the times i hold my phone with the right side resting against my ear/face and the left side not touching anything. i wonder if the sensor is picking up on that and then turning the screen back on when the left side lifts and when i change position and rest the phone more on my face it is clicking the active screen.....

anyway to change the sensitivity? or to manually lock the screen during a call and i have to push a button to activate it again in case i need to use the keypad during the call?
