Has anyone given a comparison, in regards to decibels, to compare the HTC On, iPhone 5, & S3? I love the idea of front facing speakers but I'm really hoping they have good quality. Any help would be much appreciated.

a better place
By all reports / hands on & reviews....

They're reportedly the best on a smartphone but still lack real bass and at high volume sound too trebly.

Yes they get loud, yes they better than other smartphones, but not dramatically so and NO they won't replace a proper speaker system if you want really loud sound. Buy a Bluetooth dock for home or office if you want a full proper 'range' of sound.

They get to 95 decibel, but considering the iPhone 5 is meant to peak around 90 its not huge difference volume wise. However the quality of the two front speakers are much better on the HTC one so you get a fuller sound with more defined areas of bass, middle and treble compared to regular phone speakers.

They need to start putting stereo speakers in phones again. My old Nokia N95 had awesome speakers

I am all for stereo speakers becoming the standard for smartphones, increased sound range would also be good. I am excited to see some reviews on these speakers, seems like HTC did a really nice job.

Thanks for the replies. I got the iPhone 5 @ launch then once again got bored with the OS. I bought a S3 to give android a shot for the first time and its fun learning a new system. So I'm gonna stick with android for a while and its either going to be the HTC One or the S4. Guess I will wait to see what S4 has to offer but I'm liking the aluminum housing and speakers on front.
